The process of adapting to a new home is one that can be accomplished with relative ease if you relax in the change. It may sound too simple to be true, but with practice you can surrender and relax into any change that you face in life and come out the other end shining. Now that you survived moving day and you're into your new home you may be feeling a bit funny. You look around and feel a sense of unfamiliarity in the unknown. This unfamiliarity is your chance to embrace a feeling that you probably don't have every day. This can be a good thing because you are facing a new challenge and growing as a result. Sometimes when we're in the unknown we feel afraid, and so we immediately think we've made a mistake, or that we're on the wrong path. This couldn't be farther from the truth. The fact is that we are afraid because we have lost our illusionary control over life. Every day we try to control circumstances, people, and ourselves. It's rare to surrender and let go in the unknown. Moving is a great way to practice letting go of control while adapting to a new environment. Perhaps you've planned out every detail of your move, but there are always things that go unplanned. Just as in your daily life, there are always surprises and we just don't know what's going to happen. Therefore, when we take on a big transition such as moving home, it is important to realise that we never had control to begin with, and the more we relax the better we handle change. Once you start to get the hang of surrendering, then you will naturally relax into your new environment. Your new house will start to feel like a home after awhile, so try to remember that this unknown feeling will pass. If you tend to get anxious when you experience a big change, remember to breathe! Deep breathing is so important, and most of us don't take full breaths throughout the day. Don't put any expectations on yourself, just realise that you are doing your best and keep going. Getting all your belongings organised and put away is a great way to feel more at ease in your new home. It also makes your life easier when you go look for something and you know where it is (and you don't have to dig through a box to get it). Most importantly, take time to relax and enjoy your new home! for more information on Professional Moving services in British Columbia, visit Cidel Moving and Storage Authors: Real-Estate:Moving-Relocating Articles from EzineArticles.com Read more http://ezinearticles.com/6871779 Related articles
